Vice Dean of the School of Business at NCI, Colin Whitston, has contributed to a new book ‘A Capital In Conflict: Dublin City and the 1913 Lockout’ which has been published by Dublin City Council to mark the Decade of Commemorations 1913 – 1923.

The book features a number of essays covering a wide range of topics relating to the Lockout and contextualising it, including the role of women and children; the Gaelic revival; the proposal for a Bridge Gallery to house the Lane collection of pictures; housing, public health and medicine. The international context is supplied by Mr. Whitston.

The book will be launched on Saturday April 13 by the Lord Mayor of Dublin at a public seminar in Dublin City Library & Archive, Pearse Street.
