We are living in extraordinary times. Just over four weeks ago, all educational institutes were asked to close their doors to assist in containing the spread of COVID-19, and all our staff and students went home. The instruction came suddenly, we closed the same day as the Government announcement. But thanks to good continuity planning delivered through the hard work, cooperation and adaptability of staff and students, National College of Ireland was able to quickly move all its programmes to online delivery. At the same time, we were able to continue to provide access to library services, student services, academic support, disability support and our careers service, for all our learners.

As students are facing very particular challenges while studying at home, we're sharing our Top Three evergreen tips and two tips specific to studying while social distancing:

To give students a certain level of certainty during this unpredictable time, National College of Ireland confirmed that classes would continue to be delivered online for Semester 2 in November. During this time, returning and new students have access to a number of useful resources from various departments in the college. We have compiled a list* of helpful links to websites, guides, tips, advice and other resources that will support you while studying away from the physical college environment.

Listening to student feedback is a powerful way to inform change at National College of Ireland.

The National College of Ireland team recently celebrated winning the prestigious award for “Overall Excellence in Education” at the Education Awards 2019. Along with winning the main prize on the night, the college also scooped “Best Marketing/Communications Team” and the “Career Impact Strategy” award.

This year’s Irish Survey of Student Engagement (ISSE) has gotten off to a flying start. Running from 6th February to 28th February here at National College of Ireland, almost 500 of our students have already had their say in the 2017 edition of this annual nationwide survey.

National College of Ireland is participating in this year’s Irish Survey of Student Engagement (ISSE) from today, Monday, February 6th, until Sunday, February 26th, 2017. Now in its fourth year, the survey is a nationwide opportunity for eligible students to have their say about their college experience.

Desmond Gibney, an accounting lecturer from National College of Ireland, recently raised almost €6,000 for charity through a 12 hour non-stop lecture. The event was in memory of Eoin Fennessy, better known as Fenno, who graduated from NCI in 2004 and sadly passed away from a malignant brain tumour in 2016. Read more of Eoin’s story.
