This year’s dot conf was bigger and better than ever before!
NCI’s free annual digital and web technologies conference is a highlight of the year for Ireland’s online community, who showed up in force to enjoy the event.
Kickass speakers, a killer MC in Karlin Lillington and the support of headline sponsors, Mason Hayes + Curran and Grafton Media, all combined for a day that was fresh, fun and inspiring. And the goody bags, free massages, frozen yogurts and the traditional dot conf cupcakes didn’t hurt, either.
Speakers included Bill Liao, Monty Munford, Eamonn Carey, Dena Walker and Kirstie McDermott, to name but a few. Dena and Kirstie are both lecturing in NCI’s new Certificate in Digital Marketing, which was officially launched as part of the event. This new 26 week part-time course is fully accredited by HETAC at Level 8 (degree level) on the National Framework of Qualifications.
As part of the day’s proceedings the college also announced the appointment of the new Head of the Cloud Competency Centre. Dr Horacio González-Vélez joins NCI from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. He is a recognised expert on cloud computing for the BCS, the UK Chartered Institute for IT.
