'Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization' Mahatma Gandhi

Studying in a diverse college such as NCI, which has over 50 different nationalities represented on campus, gives you a lot of opportunities to discover other cultures. It prepares you for the world after graduation where you may be faced with working with people from other cultural backgrounds which you might have not experienced before.

By getting to know other ethnicities, different ideas and beliefs, you also become more social. The cultural background can have a huge influence on how we deal and respond to different situations. If, after graduation, you want to work in any of the multinational tech companies such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, PWC or Citibank, you will already have those transferable skills you acquired in college.

Migration and Diversity report from Central Statistics Office (CSO) showed that there is over half a million non-Irish nationals in Ireland!

If you meet people from different parts of the world, you can make new friends and visit them in their own countries all around the world! And trust us, there is nothing better than discovering a new country with the local, who can show you the places never listed in the guide books.

So embrace the diversity in your college, learn about other cultures, check the different clubs and societies and make new friends!
