Hello! My name is Vrynsia, and I'm from Medan, Indonesia. I'm currently a second-year student at National College of Ireland studying the BSc (Honours) in Data Science which is an undergraduate programme offered by the School of Computing. One of the things I love most about Ireland is the friendly people and vibrant cultural scene. Whether it's the beautiful landscapes or the lively festivals, there's always something to enjoy here.

A group of MSc in Data Analytics graduates came together to form Data Science Wizards (DSW), an innovative startup which enables businesses to harness the power of AI. In November 2023, DSW was announced as the winner of the "Best Application of AI in a Startup" category at the AI Awards, demonstrating their pathway to future success in this industry. In this blog post, the team share insights into their love for data, why they chose to study data analytics at NCI and their hopes for the future of DSW.

In this blog post, Niamh Daly shares her journey studying the BSc (Honours) in Data Science at National College of Ireland. Data science is a relatively new and emerging field. As it’s not a well-known study area, it causes uncertainty for second-level students who are considering their college options and applying for courses through the CAO.

Data Scientist was named the best job for three years in a row by Glassdoor in the USA. Here in Ireland, the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs predict a demand for 21,000 additional professionals with high-level data science skills – so why not consider a degree in Data Science to future-proof your employability?
