Interested in studying in Ireland? Wondering what help you can expect from National College of Ireland? In addition to our range of international scholarships and dedicated international office, we also provide a bespoke Careers Service for international students.
The service is provided through the NCI Career Development & Employability Office, who won the AHECS ‘Excellence in Employability Award’ in both 2013 and 2014.
To assist you to develop and achieve your career goals, the Careers Office provides a suite of services, which include:
- Career Presentations and Seminars
- CV and Cover Letter Advice
- Assistance with Identifying and Applying for Career Opportunities
- Interview Skills and Mock Interviews
- Networking opportunities with employers
- Developing an online brand
Kate Coughlan, Careers Advisor, said:
“We recognise our international students require assistance with the challenges of a new employability landscape. What sets our service apart is our proactive, hands-on approach. We ensure any student going for an interview will have a mock interview with the Careers Office first. We are available and visible from your first day until you leave us.
We also recognise that each student is different and as such, may require more help in one area more than another. By the end of term, each student will have a professional CV aimed to their target market, a proficient LinkedIn presence and the knowledge on how to job search effectively. Each student needs to engage with the Careers Department to do this of course, and make the most of what is on offer."
