Dia duit! I'm Oluwashola (Shola) Akanni from Nigeria. I have a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and gained IT experience in data, banking, and telecommunications. I wanted to gain the masters edge to secure a role in a global company so I explored postgraduate study options.
I chose the MSc in Cloud Computing at National College of Ireland. I chose Ireland as my study abroad destination as it is an English-speaking country with a rich and diverse culture. Many global companies have a presence here and it was ranked as the 3rd most peaceful country in the world in 2023 by the Institute for Economics & Peace in 2023.
Why did you choose to study MSc in Cloud Computing at NCI?
I was already a Senior Cloud Engineer at a bank in Nigeria, leading the coordination of their cloud project. At this point, I felt I needed an extra edge to break into international roles. I wanted a competitive advantage. After deciding to specialise in Cloud Computing, I began researching the best schools worldwide to study this field.
I have a strong passion for computing and wanted to maximise my learning experience. I chose to study Cloud Computing at NCI because I believe it offers the most comprehensive and robust master's programme in computing, with successful alumni profiles. Over 90% of NCI's MSc in Cloud Computing graduates are employed after completing their studies within 6 months, and work in global companies such as Accenture, Amazon, Coca-Cola, EY, IBM, Mastercard, SAP, and more.
