Google finance team at NCI

In Semester 1, the final year accounting and finance class visited the Google offices. The honours degree students were there to meet with Google’s finance team, including the Director of Finance, Niall O’Sullivan. The class got to learn about the variety of products Google offers its consumers, and discuss Google’s recently published financial statements. The whole trip was a success, from the insight into real life products and accounts that demonstrated the application of everything the students have been learning, to the tour of the offices themselves, allowing the class to experience a real working environment.

Prize giving for final year students of NCI’s BA (Hons) in Business and BA (Hons) in HR

Congratulations to the final year students who were awarded prizes for their work on Strategic Management, including a strategic analysis on the Irish company Makers and Brothers as a live business case. Many thanks too to the two founders, Jonathan and Mark, who came in and watched all 34 presentations and read through the case studies – they were really impressed with the students’ work and enthusiasm, and kindly presented prizes to the winning teams on Wednesday 22nd February.

Laura, who is due to graduate later this year with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance particularly enjoyed the community aspect of NCI. Speaking about her time at National College of Ireland Laura told us how the careers team at NCI played a significant role in her efforts to secure a graduate role after college.
