Gaining a qualification in marketing can be your passport to a career in a variety of areas, whether you’re interested in digital marketing, brand management, market research, sales or product development.

Students in NCI’s School of Business are progressively challenged throughout their time studying with us to enhance their learning experience.

Final year BA (Honours) in Marketing Practice students developed their own online businesses during their final semester and showcased their brands to faculty and other members of the NCI community.

A new tradition was started at NCI with the inaugural Final Year Marketing Project Showcase event in collaboration with Shopify. Third year BA (Honours) in Marketing Practice students impressed attendees by presenting the outstanding brands they developed in groups as part of their capstone projects.

In Semester 1, the final year accounting and finance class visited the Google offices. The honours degree students were there to meet with Google’s finance team, including the Director of Finance, Niall O’Sullivan. The class got to learn about the variety of products Google offers its consumers, and discuss Google’s recently published financial statements. The whole trip was a success, from the insight into real life products and accounts that demonstrated the application of everything the students have been learning, to the tour of the offices themselves, allowing the class to experience a real working environment.

December 2017 saw the final year accounting and finance class take a trip to Google.

Congratulations to the final year students who were awarded prizes for their work on Strategic Management, including a strategic analysis on the Irish company Makers and Brothers as a live business case. Many thanks too to the two founders, Jonathan and Mark, who came in and watched all 34 presentations and read through the case studies – they were really impressed with the students’ work and enthusiasm, and kindly presented prizes to the winning teams on Wednesday 22nd February.
